For about 20 years, I have been invited to speak and lecture about my experiments in living and my writing. Some of my common topics have been:
-the creative nonviolence of Jesus (surrounding my book Jesus for President)
-radical interpretations of the Catholic tradition and its intersection with activism, protest, community living, and social identity
-the challenge and promise of having lived and worked in a "New Monastic" community in Camden NJ
-understanding human evolution, violence, and religion through the lens of René Girard's mimetic theory
Of the over one hundred invited talks I have delivered, some of them include DePaul University, The Peace and Theology Conference, Loyola University Chicago, Pax Christi, Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, The University of New Hampshire, the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Baltimore, several theological seminaries, and numerous churches and conferences. See my C. Vitae page for more background.
Besides my normal professor schedule, I still take speaking requests. Contact [email protected]
